About Ruiqi Hu
Ruiqi Hu (Iris), MSW, RSW
Ruiqi Hu (Iris) is a Registered Social Worker based in Toronto, Ontario. She provides psychotherapy for adults navigating trauma, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions.
Her clinical experience includes working with diverse populations in hospital and community settings, supporting individuals facing trauma, emotional distress, and complex life transitions. Ruiqi integrates evidence-based approaches, including EMDR, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), in her work.
She is currently continuing training in equine-assisted approaches and is interested in the role of nature and nonverbal experiences in trauma recovery.

I am currently continuing training in equine-assisted approaches, which explore how interactions with horses and nature can support emotional regulation, trauma recovery, and non-verbal processing.

How much does therapy cost?
Individual therapy sessions are $140 for 50 minutes.
The initial assessment session is $155 for 75 minutes.
I also offer a 15-minute free consultation so we can briefly connect and see if we are a good fit to work together.
Is therapy confidential?
Your privacy and safety are very important to us. In most cases, what you share in therapy remains confidential.
However, there are a few legal exceptions, such as situations where there is a risk of harm to yourself or others.
Should I choose online or in-person sessions?
Both in-person and online sessions are available.
In-person sessions take place in Unionville, while online sessions allow you to attend therapy from the comfort of your own space.
With a stable internet connection and a private environment, online therapy can be just as effective.
How do I book or change an appointment?
If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice.
